After completing an extensive Member Survey, NUsport briefed ENGINEROOM to redesign their existing website in line with member suggestions and recommendations. Specifically to:

    SPECIFICALLY TO:
  • improve navigation and increase access to pages currently buried within the site.
  • create an online timetable that can be optimised for viewing on mobile devices.
  • modernise the site in line with the new corporate identity.
  • ensure the website was optimised for viewing on desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

BEFORE

The existing website homepage was content heavy, yet limiting in providing clear communication areas for members. As an active part of the community the homepage of The Forum website needed to provide flexibility to be updated regularly to communicate relevant messages to members.

Engineroom created an image slider at the top of the page that can display relevant messages, as well as four obvious 'advertising buttons' whose message can be changed.

Results

The client was extremely pleased with the following results:


Previous monthly visits to the site were averaging 10,000. Since the launch the new average monthly visits are 20,500.

the user experience has been improved with simplified site navigation, and Restructuring of the content. The total number of site pages was reduced by 66%.

the website was identified as the most useful and relevant source of information by 99% of members that completed the follow up Member Survey.

ACTIVELY PART OF THE COMMUNITY

As The Forum is a place for various members of the community, this is reflected in the sites content. We therefore created icons of user groups with a pop up of Quick links to pages of interest for each demographic.

Engineroom Design have been working with us at The Forum for over 7 years and managed a number of communication pieces during this time. Of particular note is The Forum website, including the mobile friendly version which is has been extremely well received by members, staff and prospects. The team at Engineroom Design are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the website in particular the imagery and themes used.
